We recently supported a client with the export procedures for hazardous materials, handling all practical arrangements and documentation in one comprehensive package.
Compared to general cargo, dangerous goods require additional regulatory checks and advance coordination with relevant parties, making pre-export preparation especially critical.
Scope of Services:
- Preparation and coordination of export documents (on behalf of the manufacturer)
- Selection of a freight forwarder capable of handling dangerous goods and request for actual operations
- Confirmation of vessel schedules and booking arrangements
- Shipment instructions issued to the manufacturer upon booking confirmation
- After departure, forwarding of required import documentation to the importer via the client
Although the procedures for dangerous goods are largely similar to those for general cargo—such as document preparation, booking based on the client’s preferred schedule, and coordination with the forwarder—additional steps are necessary due to regulatory requirements.
Dangerous Goods-Specific Procedures:
- Advance selection of a forwarder certified for hazardous cargo
- Preparation of required documents (e.g., application forms, SDS)
- Arrangement of hazard labels and other mandatory markings for transport
When exporting dangerous goods, it is essential to identify all relevant regulations in advance and maintain strict compliance while ensuring no delays or disruptions in the logistics process.
In this project as well, we ensured a smooth export flow by facilitating thorough information sharing and pre-checks among all involved parties.
KATLEX supports not only general cargo, but also the specialized handling of hazardous materials.
